• Assisting the Resident Engineer in contract management of road maintenance and construction projects under the jurisdiction of the aforementioned authority in the Western region of Kenya. The general roles include; . Design and supervision of roads and drainage structures such as box culverts, cross culverts etc. • Quality control through approval of test requisitions and results – in liaison with the inspectors of works on site and the materials engineer, I am involved in the approval of tests carried out on aggregates, concrete, earthworks, gravel or other materials involved at every level of operation. • Assisting the Resident Engineer in the preparation and processing of interim payment certificates for the contractors undertaking the road works. • Preparation and Issuance of instructions to the Contractor after approval by the Resident Engineer. • Preparation of monthly and quarterly progress reports for various road works projects in western region for onward reporting to headquarters. • Supervision of ongoing works to ensure the rightful procedures are followed during execution of works. • Assisting in preparation of Bills of Quantities and tender documents for the western region road maintenance or construction works. • Measurement of completed works for purposes of payment to the contractor. • Stakeholder management by attending stakeholder meetings and writing response letters to complains or any other correspondences.
